The largest forest fire in Colorado history took it's toll on our community of Sunshine. 90% of the houses were destroyed in the fire. Ours included. The fire started around 10:30 in Saline, one canyon to the south of Sunshine. With dry humity and high winds, it didn't take long for the fire to overtake any attempt to extinguish. Milo wants to re-build.

I'm very sorry. Good for you rebuilding. We were renting at 100 CR-83 which is lost. Fell in love quickly with the community
David, I used to be a follower of yours years ago now on AOL journals, and lost your blog in the big move. But I saw your community on the news, and instantly knew that was your area. I'm SO VERY sorry for the devastation there, and for the loss of or damage to your home... but I'm very glad that you and Milo are ok, I hope everyone else in your household is too. Know that you are in my prayers for a speedy recovery from this awful tragedy.
David,
I'm horrified to hear of this. I hope not all the historical buildings, mentioned in the book, were lost. Wishing all of Sunshine the best of luck with the rebuild, good for you.
Guido
